Medellin, is the second-largest city in Colombia and the capital of the state of Antioquia, the home of colorful flowers and exquisite tropical fruits. It is surrounded by mountains with wonderful yearlong spring weather with an average temperature ranging from 18 to 28 Celsius (64 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit).
Medellin has undergone a cultural, social, and economic transformation in recent years that led to this bustling metropolis being chosen, for example, as the host city for the World Urban Forum and the 4th World Bike Forum in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
The Medellin metropolitan area, which comprises 10 municipalities located in the Aburra Valley, currently is home to roughly 3,800,000 people. This urban conglomerate in northwestern Colombia (nestled amid the Andes’ Cordillera Central range) hosts world-class events such as the Flower Festival, the international Poetry Festival, the Medellin Book and Culture Festival, Colombiamoda, and Colombiatex.
